The Bible and science: Uranus – Another Gas Giant

Moving out from Saturn, we come to Uranus, the third in the planets categorized as a gas giant. Like the other gas giants, it should not exist for the same reasons. But it does. This pastel-blue coloured planet is unique in many ways.
If one believes in its formation through the Nebular Hypothesis model, or the idea that the Sun and the planets formed as the result of gravitational congealing of gas, dust and rocks from a loose, disk-shaped cloud, then like many of the other planets, one should find that the rotation of the planet should be in line with the general orbital plane of all the planets in the solar system. But Uranus does not rotate in that fashion at all. As an example, the Earth rotates on an axis, that is about 23 ½ degrees out of its orbital plane. Uranus, on the other hand, is said to be tilted at an angle of 98 degrees out of its orbital plane. This makes no sense, as planetary objects should be in a state of rotation consistent with its initial formation, unless it got hit hard by some massive object and was thrown completely off its axis. Other than that observation, there is nothing else indicating that any Earth-sized object would have hit it in the past. If it had been hit by an object that large, then the orbit of Uranus would have been more elliptical, or out of round. As it is, Uranus has one of the most circular orbits of all the planets in the solar system.
Uranus has 27 known moons. Curiously, the largest of the moons which make up the most mass, orbit around Uranus’ equatorial plane. In other words, it appears that however these moons formed, they now orbit in synchronization with the rotational plane of the planet. If the planet was impacted by an Earth-sized object, and then stabilized in a 98 degree tilt, then the orbits of the moons should be rather random in their orbits. The other explanation is that the moons were formed after the impact, but this is a stretch, as the mass of material in the moons is far too small to have been formed by an impact of that magnitude.
The final evidence for a recently created planet is that of the magnetic field that Uranus has. Evolutionists predicted that Uranus would have very little strength in its magnetic field. But 2 years before Voyager 2 did its flyby of Uranus, creation physicist, Dr. Russ Humphreys, predicted its magnetic field strength based on a biblical creation model. Once more, a creation scientist’s prediction had been verified.
So, once more, we see the handiwork of God in His recently-created universe, and Uranus, surprisingly to evolutionists, bears testament to the Creation Model.
