Rivers Edge Camp

Rivers Edge Camp & Retreat Centre is located 45 minutes NW of Calgary and 90 minutes SW of Red Deer. It is nestled on 320 acres of Alberta’s beautiful foothills amidst a breathtaking panoramic view of the majestic Rocky Mountains. Our mandate is to INVITE diverse groups to experience Christ-centred life change. Each summer, Rivers Edge hosts family camps, children’s camps, youth camps, and a seniors’ weekend retreat. We offer traditional camps with activity options like archery, bmx, bubble soccer and a 400 foot slip’n slide as well as specialized horsemanship camps, and old-school roughing-it camps. In the spring, Rivers Edge hosts a Grand Camp, open to Grandparents and their grandchildren. In addition to our self-generated camps, we host guest groups from various church denominations, a variety of community organizations and many school groups during the year.

Our Frontier Hall is a 44,000-square-foot building that houses our dining hall and auditorium. We also have a gymnasium, high ropes challenge course, indoor climbing wall and a host of other exciting elements.

Our accommodations include:

  • Country Inn – a cozy lodge-style building that accommodates up to 75 people with a beautiful view of the Rocky Mountains.

Camp Teepee Pole

This is a camp for boys and young men. Partnered with Christian Service Brigade, our purpose is to “win and train boys for Christ.” We are an outdoor adventure camp where guys can be guys while learning about God, their Creator – Psalms 8:3-5.

Our activities are built for boys. Our training sharpens their skills and minds. Our staff are Christian role models who can become good friends. Our focus includes environmental conservation. And, we add a healthy dose of FUN with mountain biking, hikes, projects, tubing, white water rafting, sports, rappelling, archery, shooting, tuck, morning devotions and evening campfires. Activities vary, as we always ensure things are “age appropriate”.

Facilities: max. 50 campers each week. There are six cabins, each with ten bunks and loft – bring your own sleeping bag and gear; hot showers, flush toilets, commercial kitchen with qualified cooks who provide Camp Teepee Pole’s signature meals each day. Our camps fill quickly, so register early.

We encourage your support – the Fundraising Banquet is on April 27 in Carstairs. We enlist fathers and other mature Christian volunteers, young and old, to serve as staff and cabin counsellors. Contact www.campteepeepole.org

Prairie Sports Camps

This upcoming summer is going to be a busy one at Prairie College with all of the sports camps that the Department of Athletics and Recreation will be putting on. For decades, people all over Alberta have been making Three Hills their destination spot for sports camps. The Prairie Pilots Sports Camps are host to a wide variety of day and overnight camps ranging in age from six years old to eighteen. There are multisport camps for elementary-aged boys and girls and also sport-specific camps for Jr. and Sr. High kids. The point of the camps is to help campers develop their athletic abilities, while also teaching and educating them on biblical characteristics. Prairie College’s motto is, “To know Christ and make Him known” which is applied to everything that happens on campus. Having Christ as the central focus each week is what makes these camps so special and successful.

There are a few updates from within the Prairie Department of Athletics and Recreation for this coming summer too. The Prairie Pilots have started the process of applying to the ACAC (Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference). Because of this, the Department of Athletics and Recreation has decided to expand the offerings of camps for Summer 2019 which will include a Futsal/Soccer camp. The Institution has also begun the process of revamping the Sport Management program, developing it into a four-year program. Also, NBC Camps, which have been a partner with Prairie College for a number of years, is expanding their operations and have added two new camps for Summer 2019, including a Volleyball Camp.

In total, there will be two Multi-Sport camps, two volleyball camps, three basketball camps and a futsal/soccer camp. It is shaping up to be an exciting summer for Prairie Pilots Sports Camps.

More information about each camp can be found at www.prairie.edu/Sports-Camps.

Eagle Bay Camp

Whether you are a child, teen or adult, you will never forget your experience at Eagle Bay Camp. Our motto is “A Place Where Lives are Changed” and it perfectly describes this 23-acre piece of property on the shores of Shuswap Lake in the BC Interior. Once you come to Eagle Bay, you will long to return. It is a special place of peace, solitude or crazy adventures. We have something for everyone, from our 26ft., tower, and zip line, to our endless shore lines for kayaking, and swimming. Many people have found answers to some of life’s most pressing questions while enjoying the relaxation of a sunset or conversation on the beach.

Eagle Bay Camp has been around for 34 years but the gospel history of this place goes back over 100 years. We even have an old fur trader church on our property where people would meet for worship before the turn of the century. Today, we see close to 3,000 kids every spring, summer and fall along with many retreats, school groups and rentals. Many find God’s loving grace and hope while creating memories and relationships.

Eagle Bay has a full-time Chef, onsite to create some of the best food you will ever eat. We believe food is as important as the scenery and activities, so we cater to providing very healthy menus for all groups.

Join us for a rental group or register your child for a week.

Mill Creek Camp

Who are we? Our Vision says it best:

Welcomed to Belong.

Invited to Believe.

Challenged to Become.

Each of these three values is critically important and interdependent in Mill Creek Baptist Camp’s vision of a balanced ministry in partnership with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada and our supporting churches. We follow this framework as a way to evaluate faith formation as we equip people to follow Jesus in whatever culture or context they find themselves.

Belonging means being welcomed and accepted no matter where an individual is at in their spiritual journey. We believe that we are transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that through Jesus, we have been forgiven and reconciled to God. This reconciliation prompts us to invite others to make the conscious decision to believe. The challenge to become is a call to take action in developing Christ-like Character through a process of
discipleship.
