Thank you for providing children in need with gift-filled shoeboxes
by Frank King
Hundreds of thousands of Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, filled with toys, hygiene items and school supplies, have been processed and are now being shipped to children in need in Central America, west Africa and Ukraine.
This is the 25th year for Operation Christmas Child and Randy Crosson, who directs the program for Samaritan’s Purse, is grateful to Canadians for continuing to pack shoeboxes and support the ministry.
“These boxes provide hope to children, many of whom have never received in a gift in their lives,” he said. “The boxes also remind children that they have not been forgotten by Canadians or by God.”
Whenever possible, Samaritan’s Purse and its church partners offer shoebox recipients the opportunity to participate in The Greatest Journey. God has used this 12-lesson evangelism and discipleship ministry to transform lives around the world. In 2017 alone, almost four million children enrolled in The Greatest Journey lessons and nearly two million of them made decisions for Christ.
