Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat – THEATRE

The Painted Fish Performing Arts Society will present Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s famous musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, April 26-29, and May 3-6, 2018 at the Cite Des Rocheuses Theatre, 4800 Richard Rd. SW, Calgary.

Evening performances begin at 7:30 pm and matinees are at 2 pm.

This light-hearted look at the story of Joseph and his eleven brothers is a tale of hope and forgiveness. Joseph is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers. In Egypt, Joseph interprets the dreams of the Pharaoh and is placed in high position to govern. Meanwhile in Canaan, times are hard, and the brothers come to Egypt to beg for food. Joseph recognizes them, and puts them to a test. He realizes they have changed, reveals his identity to them and they are united.

It’s a musical all ages will enjoy, and one that meets the mandate of The Painted Fish. Celebrating their 10th season, the theatre Society presents family musicals to family audiences, and encourages intergenerational family casting.

Led by Artistic Director, Marian Hamilton, the company has presented Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music and Oliver, as well as many Christmas shows by new composers and playwrights. Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat is an encore production brought back by popular demand. The Painted Fish was nominated for 6 CAT Awards for their previous presentation.
