Spotlight: Mission & Ministry
Aftercare Ministries (ACM) Society is a not-for-profit Christian outreach ministry that exists for the purpose of faithfully and prayerfully proclaiming the good news of the cross of Jesus Christ to those incarcerated in prison.
We are grateful when God allows us to witness as the seed of His word bears the fruit of a transformed heart. We work in the prisons to share this message of hope and assist in transition from prison to society.
Through involvement in the prison ministry following incarceration, ACM has become more familiar with the plight and special circumstances of the offenders, ex-offenders, and their immediate and extended families.
The Aftercare needs are numerous and significant, and the opportunities for Christian service virtually unlimited. They include pointing individuals to the transforming power of Christ, assisting the new believers in one-on-one ongoing, long term friendships, mentoring, connecting to a Biblical community, and providing discipling and guidance through incarceration and the transition to freedom.
ACM works with other agencies and Christian ministries to access appropriate community resources for participants. This is the joy and privilege of this type of ministry and if you would like to volunteer or support our work, please contact us at 403-540-5736.
Volunteer translators needed for worldwide ministry
Bible for Children is an internet ministry to the two billion children around the world. Our website provides 60 free illustrated Bible stories (Genesis to Revelation) translated into more than130 languages. Over the past five years, 25 million Bible stories have been read by children all over the world. Children and adults have been saved. Missionaries and local church pastors in many countries use these stories to share the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is almost no Bible material for children in most languages.
The stories are available world-wide in many of the major languages, but our desire is that children everywhere can read about Jesus in their own language. Our next goal is 1,000 languages!
Can YOU help? Will you translate the stories from English into another language you speak? The process is simple. It is all done through email. BFC provides step-by-step guidance. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org today.
Training with an aim to serve others
God is calling people to work and minister cross-culturally. He recently directed John and Iris to the Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL) to receive quality training by field-experienced staff and instructors. While they were still single, they discovered a caring community of like-minded people. Along their journey, they met and got married the following year. They recently completed their training and are now on a language survey team in Nigeria.
CanIL is experiencing a marked growth in student enrollment this year. We have seen a high percentage of our students, like John and Iris, go on to join mission-sending agencies and leave for their chosen ministry assignment after completion of their studies. Approximately 500 CanIL alumni have served in over 40 countries since 1985. Integrating scholarship with linguistics in service to language communities worldwide, CanIL provides a wide range of training to prepare people for roles in Bible translation, scripture engagement, literacy and multi-lingual education, language survey, and language documentation.
CanIL offers numerous scholarships, bursaries, matching gifts, and paid work experience programs. As a result, many mission-bound CanIL graduates are able to pursue their chosen career paths upon graduation free of debt. CanIL is located on the picturesque campus of Trinity Western University campus in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, where many of our students and staff enjoy the year-round hiking, camping, and cycling that the Pacific Northwest provides.

Keynote speaker & national best selling author Denise Mountenay is reaching, teaching and encouraging women to choose love for their babies.
After an encounter with Jesus Christ, and her aborted children, Denise was compelled by the Holy Spirit to begin to share her testimony and the truth about this critical issue so prevalent in our generation today.
Her new book brings evidence, education and awareness on the pain and damage of legal abortion to women. God has opened many doors for her to speak all over the world and give presentations at the United Nations. Denise also ministers to the broken-hearted. Rev. 12:11.

Christian education is more than sitting in a classroom and learning facts. It is about building a relationship with Jesus Christ and incorporating His principles into everyday life. Adult believers get this, but children, especially boys, need to see it demonstrated in practical ways. CSB gives boys hands-on experiences, activities and games which reflect real-world action. Certified CSB leaders – ordinary men with real-life jobs – show them what it is to be a man of God in today’s world. CSB resources capture the action of life and wrap it in Biblical truths in a way that appeals to both boys and men. Imagine that: men leading the boys and young men of their communities to serve Jesus. It’s a hallmark of CSB.
CSB Canada is having an introductory dessert fellowship – a CSB Rally – in Calgary NW on Wednesday, March 7th, from 7 to 8:30pm at Harvest Hills Alliance Church. Interested parents, concerned church leaders, Christian men and CSB Brigade supporters are invited to hear about CSB’s newly updated ministries to boys and young men, and to discuss how to effectively serve the boys and families of Calgary. Register at www.csbbc.org/alberta. CSB helps churches in “Building Godly Men of Today and Tomorrow.”
Freedom of worship in Russia is sharply curtailed
The Russian government has cracked down on all the evangelical churches with new laws and restrictive regulations that were signed by President Putin last year.
To enforce these new laws the government is compelling all evangelical churches in the country to re-register their charter.
The government now states any Evangelical Christian church with 50 members or more is designated as a “potential terrorist target,” and as such, must hire Russian secret security agents to be on site at every church service.
In addition, every church is required to purchase and install very expensive metal detectors to the entrance to their church.
Churches cannot afford to pay for these security measures. It is simply a way to crush the churches financially.
Some pastors are trying to work around this law by removing all but 50 people from their membership rolls. For example, churches with 400 members are removing 350 members.
Christians whose names are removed wonder what will happen to them. Will they be forced to gather someplace else? Will they be able to attend as visitors? Right now, no one knows.
Further, the Russian government is requiring anyone who leads in the church in any way – such as Sunday school teachers or youth pastors – to go through government training programs and receive certificates to continue teaching.
The problem is the government has their own curriculum and will tell these Christians what they can and cannot teach.
Providentially, while the Russian government has restricted the churches in almost every other area, printing presses inside Russia are still accessible. But GCMM president Hannu Haukka says that we have little time to get these books printed before the door closes completely.
In past years, GCMM has conducted 40 mega city campaigns in Russia. As a result of these mega city campaigns some 2,000 new churches were planted. And it is the Christians in these new churches that are requesting one million more “Power to Change” books so that they can give them to family members and friends.
They need your help to provide these books for them. We have a short time to do this. Please know that Russia’s believers are very thankful for all who have already given.
GCM Ministries needs your help to give all possible assistance to our brothers and sisters in Russia.
Again, the immediate need is to print an additional 200,000 New Testaments (costing about $1 each) and 150,000 Bibles (costing about $3 each) and 5 million Power To Change evangelistic books (at a cost of 35¢ each).

Contact Tyson Jones at 403-571-9564 or email@example.com. Funds raised go to support the Kids In Action after school program for students in grades 1 to 5. Over a meal and physical activity, kids build relationships with mentors and build character. Every child is loved by God, and this program helps kids understand that and experience their ultimate worth.
The Youth In Action after school program for students in grades 6 to 8 helps students learn new skills, build character, enjoy healthy snacks and learn about God. There is a need for mentors and donations to help fund these programs. Contact Hope Mission at 587-819-0015.
HOPE Outreach of Canada exists so that our neighbours worldwide and particularly those in the Holy Land come to know Jesus and as His fully committed followers, promote His true and lasting peace. We do this by supporting Bethlehem Bible College and its local humanitarian arm, the Shepherd’s Society. Bethlehem Bible College trains Palestinian Arab Christians to take the gospel to their own people. An extension of these classes is offered globally online where many students are believers from a Muslim background.
Musalaha, meaning reconciliation, bridges the wide cultural gap between Messianic Israeli believers and Arab Christians. HOPE Outreach projects provide training, summer camps and desert encounters which bring these two groups together around their shared worship of Jesus Christ. Together these Christians become a much-needed voice for peace.
HOPE Outreach also sponsors Canadian life-changing ministry trips to the Holy Land. Visit us at Booth A-11 at Missions Fest Alberta.
Our missionaries are active across Canada in evangelism, discipling, and ministering to the needs of the whole person. We do these within the framework of the bigger picture – we believe that establishing churches is central to the Great Commission and the building of God´s kingdom among Canada´s First Peoples.
There are still many Aboriginal communities without a healthy Bible-based church. Can you imagine anything more rewarding than seeing firsthand a church planted where there previously wasn´t one?
We have church multiplying career opportunities, as well as short and long-term ministry openings in Bible camps, publishing, television, office, and facilities maintenance.

People International has been in Central Asia for over 30 years. We are one of the few missions that focus solely on the region of greater Central Asia. Our focus area is Turkey in the west to China in the east. The ‘stan countries include over 450 million people. Most people in Central Asia have not heard that God himself came to earth to forgive them from their sin, and offer them salvation for eternity. We are committed and passionate about sharing the good news of the gospel with Central Asians through presenting Jesus Christ in a culturally sensitive manner. This involves learning language, reading and re-telling the biblical narrative in a Central Asian mother tongue, and praying that God will reveal himself to these beloved people.
One of the challenges of working for an agency in a countries that few have heard of is; that people often hear even less about what good things our workers are doing!
One such story is about a group of people serving in a country whose name few can pronounce, fewer know they just elected a new president and for sure no one knows the names or faces of the street people in the capital city. But in spite of all of that, a small group of people saw the need to create a safe and loving environment to allow these nameless, faceless people to die with dignity. They came together to create a hospice. This project is complete. They are now training people in hospice care. These carers will be ministering to people who are God’s image bearers in a forgotten part of the world.
People International is committed to finishing the task of planting new churches in Central Asia among the unreached and unengaged Muslim groups. This is not for the faint hearted!
